OSHA 30-Hour Construction Industry Training

This comprehensive 30-hour program is designed for workers who have some safety responsibility on the job. The training provides in-depth information on a wide variety of safety topics. The primary focus is on equipping workers to identify, avoid, control, and prevent workplace hazards, rather than on memorizing OSHA standards. The total instructional time must be a minimum of 30 hours.

Course Curriculum: A Breakdown of the 30 Hours

The 30-hour curriculum is divided into mandatory, elective, and optional modules to provide a thorough education in construction safety and health.

Mandatory Training Topics (15 Hours)

Fifteen hours are dedicated to core safety principles and the most critical hazards in the construction industry.

Elective Topics (12 Hours)

You must receive at least 12 hours of training covering a minimum of six of the following topics. The minimum duration for any single topic is 30 minutes.

Optional Topics (Up to 3 Hours)

Up to three additional hours can be used to teach other construction industry hazards or policies. This time can also be used to expand on any of the mandatory or elective topics. The minimum length for any topic presented is 30 minutes. This allows for customization based on specific site needs, such as a deeper dive into topics like Excavation, Cranes & Derricks, or Scaffolds.
