OSHA 10-Hour Construction Industry Training

This training program is intended to provide entry-level construction workers with crucial information about their rights, their employer's responsibilities, and how to file a complaint. The training covers a variety of construction safety and health hazards that a worker may encounter on a construction site. The program emphasizes practical hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention, rather than a deep dive into specific OSHA standards.

The total instructional time must be a minimum of 10 hours.


Course Curriculum: A Breakdown of the 10 Hours

The 10-hour program is structured with mandatory, elective, and optional modules to ensure all participants receive essential safety knowledge.

Mandatory Training Topics (6 Hours)

Six hours of the course are dedicated to fundamental safety topics and the most severe hazards in construction.


Elective Topics (2 Hours)

A minimum of two hours must be dedicated to elective topics. At least two of the following subjects must be presented, with each topic lasting for a minimum of 30 minutes.


Optional Topics (2 Hours)

The remaining two hours can be used to teach other construction industry hazards, cover company-specific policies, or expand on any of the mandatory or elective topics.
