Fire Prevention & Extinguisher Training
Hands-On Training for a Safer Workplace
Course Overview
With over 200 people killed and 5,000 injured in workplace fires and explosions annually, proper training is not just a compliance issue—it's a critical safety measure. This essential 4-hour course, offered here in McAllen, TX, is designed to give your team the knowledge and confidence to respond safely and effectively in a fire emergency.
Participants will learn the principles of fire prevention, their role in your company's emergency plan, and how to properly use a portable fire extinguisher. The course culminates in a live-fire, hands-on session, allowing each student to extinguish a controlled fire. This program is critical for meeting the requirements of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157 and is essential for anyone designated as a Fire Watch.
Who Needs This Training?
According to OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.157(g)(1), any employer that provides portable fire extinguishers for employee use in the workplace must also provide an educational program to familiarize them with fire extinguisher use and the hazards of incipient-stage firefighting.
